I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood from Colorado State University and have been teaching preschool for over 30 years. I have been the teacher at Fort Collins Preschool since 1991 and I love my job! Every day is a new adventure and seeing life through the eyes of preschoolers gives me boundless energy.
I am a Colorado native and have lived in Fort Collins since 1977. I am married to a wonderful man and I am the mother of two grown children. My interests include camping and boating, running, kickboxing and I love a good book.
I am a graduate of CSU with a degree in Human Development and family studies. My husband, Charlie and I live in Fort Collins with our 3 children, whom also happen to be former FCPS students! Having gone through the school as well as serving on the board helps me to be so familiar with the preschool and co-op experience.
My philosophy focuses on the growth and development of the whole child. I view each child as an individual with their own talents and strengths. I truly enjoy the love of learning and am looking forward to watching your children grow and learn. I am a strong believer that children learn best through hands-on, play based activities.
Mary Breckenridge, Art Teacher
I’m Mary Beth Breckenridge, your art teacher. I am delighted to be apart of this community of learning.
I graduated from Hartwick college with a bachelor’s degree in art and a minor in art history. I have 13 years of working with children under my belt through preschools, art teaching at Poudre School District and in my own day care at home. My two children have both graduated from FCPS, so I am familiar with what it takes to keep this wonderful school running, i.e., awesome and dedicated teachers and parents.
I actively paint, collage, and do pottery. Art can be a wonderful outlet and learning tool for children — and adults! I like to make art fun and consider myself lucky to share that passion with your children. I look forward to making masterpieces with your little ones and getting to know you all better.
